It's a tough as nails shmup done in the aesthetics of R-Type (ZX Spectrum version). It has tons of little short levels that make you swear (in a good way). You will die a lot, but each and every level is achievable. One for the retro fans, for sure, but shmup fans should give this a chance beyond a cursory glance. It has some really great levels.. Great game in the in Sinclair ZX Spectrum style. Lot's of references that only those who were there back in the day will get. My only complaint is that I wish I could reduce the volume of the sound effects so I could hear the music.. First off, thanks to the developer for this great flashback!The game also hit the side scroll shooter nail on the head, everything you expect to be there is in its place. In addition to that the game offers a rich upgrade system and progression campain. I would have paid much more then i actually did just for the attention to detail this game offer.It's at least 25 years since i laughed my♥♥♥♥♥off when a box/enemy suddenly appeared right inside me. :). First things first: I recommend this game. Buy it now. It's cheap, it's unique, it's wholeheartedly retro. But therein may also lay its biggest drawback - the power-up system. While a 1-button control scheme and a Gradius like power-up system might be retro to the core, that doesn't mean it is nice. It never was, not even back then. So, be prepared to struggle with the power-up system, to curse it, to cuss at it. If you manage to overcome this, you will have a lot of fun, with this very unique exploration style little shmup. Wait, did I say little? This game is HUGE. After 10 hours of playtime I only had 15 % of the map conquered and it really started to get tough. You definitely get your money's worth with this game. Oh and never mind that it also features gorgeous ZX-Spectrum inspired graphics, as well as a great soundtrack. Combined with its sense of humor you really have an engaging experience for people who are really into old games.. If you love games such as R-type, Gradius and other old school shooters this one is right up your alley. This game has me in awe. Congratulations to Suminell Studios. I will certainly keep my eyes peeled for their past and future work!. Well it was a fun r-type/Gradius game while it lasted. I completed over 26%, conquered dozens and dozens of planets, searched for idols to help destroy even more planets quickly but came away with only destroying 2 out of 3 idols- for 5 different planets. Went around the map numerous times in different places in search of maybe possibly another idol spot that may be easier but unfortunately I hit a brick wall and the game is just too darn difficult for me to keep on. It's a shame because I like the game a lot and want to conquer 100% but unless they patch in a new update or something my journey ends here. Still had a blast though!
